Shaping a sustainable future

"Sustainable development is development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. "*

Sustainability is our responsibility, which is why Badeparadies Schwarzwald is committed to these four core elements under the umbrella of the Josef Wund thermal spa group:

Well-being of guests & employees

The well-being of people is at the centre of all our efforts.

Holistic further development of the company

We always take into account the impact on the climate, the environment and people.

Active reduction of CO² emissions

We want to be and are already a role model in the areas of energy and climate protection.

Conscious use of water as a resource

We use our central element "water" responsibly and efficiently.

Conscious use of resources

Since the very beginning of the Badeparadies Schwarzwald, the conscious use of resources has been an important credo. An in-house wood chip heating system, 100% green electricity, the efficient use of water purification agents, a sophisticated system of heat generation and recovery as well as water-saving fittings are important components of a holistic ecological operation.

Under the umbrella of the Josef Wund thermal spa group, Badeparadies Schwarzwald has already consciously set sail for a sustainable future in recent years. Extensive investments in energy efficiency have significantly reduced energy consumption. A team of experts is working every day to drive this process forward in order to get even closer to the goal of climate neutrality.

Together for the future

Regional cooperation is particularly important to the Badeparadies Schwarzwald: as a co-operation partner of the Southern Black Forest Nature Park's "Blooming Nature Park" initiative, wildflower meadows have been planted around our "paradise", providing food for busy bees. Furthermore, the Badeparadies Schwarzwald and 26 other tourism businesses are taking a joint path with Hochschwarzwald Tourismus GmbH by participating in the "Climate-neutral tourism in the Upper Black Forest" project - towards a climate-neutral corporate future. In addition: all letters and parcels from Badeparadies Schwarzwald are sent climate neutrally.

"Climate-neutral tourism in the Upper Black Forest" project

The project is being carried out in close cooperation with the state of Baden-Württemberg and is therefore part of the state's climate protection strategy.

Blooming Southern Black Forest Nature Park" initiative

In cooperation with the Naturpark Südschwarzwald we are committed to a flower-rich and insect-friendly landscape. Several bee meadows have already been created around the "Paradies".

Founding member of the corporate climate protection network

Unternehmensnetzwerk Klimaschutz: An IHK platform connects companies that want to make an active contribution to keeping our planet liveable for future generations.

Wund Holding is a signatory to the UN Global Compact. As a subsidiary of Wund Holding GmbH, which is included in the annual Communication on Progress (CoP) to the UN Global Compact, Badeparadies Schwarzwald also adheres to the principles of the UN Global Compact.

social sustainability

Sustainability is a constant process of optimisation and further development that the BADEPARADIES SCHWARZWALD has been living for many years. These endeavours are driven by the preservation of our liveable and lovable natural and cultural landscape. The Adventure & Recreation World has already successfully completed many small steps:

  • Environmentally friendly paper: the colour is new, the good feeling remains. Paper towels and toilet paper are now made from 100% recycled cellulose fibres. The paper, which is certified with the EU Ecolabel, supports the recycling of beverage cartons, avoids CO² emissions and thus saves healthy tree populations.
  • Electric charging station: Together with Energiedienst, we have set up an electric charging station with two exclusive parking spaces in the car park of the PALAIS VITAL spa and sauna world. The majority of our own vehicle fleet is already electric.
  • Climate-neutral shipping with DHL GoGreen: All orders received via the BADEPARADIES SCHWARZWALD shop are shipped in a climate-neutral way. We made a conscious decision in favour of DHL and the associated emissions offsetting, which can be used to promote global climate protection projects.
  • Flowering sponsorship: We are a proud supporter of the "Blühende Felder" (flowering fields) campaign initiated by Haslachhof in nearby Löffingen. In order to promote the biodiversity of insects and small animals, fields are planted annually with a special seed mixture, not treated with pesticides and mowed only three times. BADEPARADIES SCHWARZWALD supports this project as a premium sponsor.
  • Good public transport connections: Since December 2019, the electrified railway line has also made it easy to travel by train. From Freiburg, Villingen and Schluchsee, you can now reach "paradise" stress-free and CO²-neutral. The 10-minute walk from the railway station to the BADEPARADIES SCHWARZWALD is well signposted.
  • E-bike charging station: With an e-bike charging station, we actively promote the use of emission-free means of transport. In addition to our guests, our employees also have the option of travelling by sustainable mobility and are increasingly contributing to the spread of e-bikes and reducing road traffic (the charging stations are located by the bicycle stands on the parking deck).
  • Reimbursement for travelling by public transport: On presentation of a bwegt ticket, every ticket holder receives a 2 euro discount at check-out.
